Chinese tallow (Triadica sebifera) is the invasive you might not recognize as invasive at first. It is a deciduous tree with heart-shaped leaves that turn brilliant red and orange in fall. It produces clusters of small yellow flowers in spring and distinctive three-lobed fruit that splits open in fall to reveal white, waxy seeds that look like popcorn.
Those "popcorn" seeds are the problem.
